I started off a little rocky, I kept forgetting things like measuring cups and knives to peel and cut the apples so after an hour of scrambling for supplies I got it together.
So I was finally ready to start the dough. I just figured it out as a went and it probably took longer then I thought it would because I didn't use a fork.. anyway I finally got the dough ready.
Next, I rolled it and put it in the pan. I tried to make it look nice and made fork indents so it would have a basic design on the crust. It looked a little crappy but it did the job.
Then I stuck it in the fridge and started on the apple filling. I accidently bought powdered sugar instead of sugar at the grocery store but thankfully there was sugar in the Brown Cody kitchen (thank you Emmy...?). Some friends of mine helped me peel the apples and then I mixed in the cinnamon and sugar.
I took the pie crust out of the fridge and filled it with the apple filling. Then I tried my best to put the remaining dough on top of the filling and lace it through. It was a little wobbly looking and I was short on dough so it wasn't the prettiest pie you ever saw but it was holding together.
I was ready to bake it! (Or so I thought..)
I put the pie in the oven for about five minutes until I realized I didn't put egg milk stuff on the crust.. so I just took the pie out, brushed the stuff on the crust and put it back in.
Now I was really ready to bake!!!
The pie turned out great. I think I put a little too much cinnamon, but only my boyfriend (who doesn't like cinnamon much) seemed to notice. It really was perfect though, maybe next time I'll try to make it look prettier, but I am no longer intimidated of baking and gettin in the kitchen to try something new!
